The horrible act of violence committed at Parkland inspired students across America to stand up for their own safety. They are showing their support for gun law reform and gun violence prevention in various marches and walkouts spread throughout the next two months. So far, two big marches have already taken place. Here are the details on the most recent:
Organized by the National School Walkout, this march, which took place on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting, included schools across the nation who will start a national walkout.
On April 20, 2018, many schools across Nashville walked out of classes and made their way to the capital to protest gun violence and advocate for gun law reform.
Multiple Nashville high schools. Public and Private. Adults attended as well.
Each school left during classes and, if they were within reasonable distance, they walked together towards the capital, where we met for a rally. Afterwards, around 3 there was a town hall to give students a chance to hear from and talk to legislators and people who can make a change.
